Instagrammers who Inspire Me!

Colour Saturated Life | My Favourite Instagrammers

Ironically enough I am not a huge fan of social media, I will never be one of those people who shares her every thought online and I will not be documenting everything I eat any time soon. Yes, I realise that this is a strange thing to hear from someone who blogs, I mean after all blogging  is a form of social media, is it not? I am actually quite a private person, I don’t like to share too much of myself and prefer to keep my sharing about DIY, interior design and anything creative. I actually find keeping up with my social media really hard and I honestly think I am terrible at it! I will never be one of those people who is comfortable with the concept of social media but I endeavour to try!

I have to admit though that I LOVE instagram, I find it the one area of social media that I understand and really enjoy using. I think because I am primarily a visual person Instagram just makes sense for me. I could look at beautiful pictures all day and I love sharing images of my latest creations on there. I am still new to it though and getting use to using hashtags!

I really wanted to share with you my top ten instagrammers who inspire me to create, photograph and just get out there and enjoy the beautiful wonder that is our world. Some you may have heard of but I hope some of these you will follow through and check out as I always get excited when they pop up in my feed. I think these say a lot about me and where my interests lie……you will see that they are wide and varied. It goes without saying that these are in no particular order.

1. @abeautifulmess

I think that if you have not heard about A Beautiful Mess you must be living under a rock but I love anything and everything that Elsie and Emma do! What I wouldn’t do to be part of this gene pool! Haha!

2. @brightbazaar

Probably another OBVIOUS one but who doesn’t love Will? He has my love of colour (and he even spells it the same way as me, which makes me happy!). Will was the first blogger/interior design author that showed me that colour was okay and you really should just spend your day seeking it out.

3. @caliallstaring

This is one you may not have heard about but I cannot tell you how much I love Xing’s feed. Xing is a Californian Street Photographer who has some serious talent. I find myself “hearting” his images so often that I am on the verge of becoming his stalker. As a photographer I admire his work and find his use of natural light absolutely flawless. I am still working on my street photography skills so I find his feed something I aspire to.

4. @iamalchemy

Now I may be a little bias with this one as Belinda of I am Alchemy is a friend and she was actually maid of honour at my wedding so I am not sure I can be trusted! Bea (as I call her) is an incredibly talented weaver and her feed is beyond amazing, especially if you have an affinity with nature as she does. Bea was weaving before it became trendy and has curated her loyal following through her love of nature and her ability to capture it’s simple beauty. She sells her weavings and naturally dyed weaving kits online. If you are the nature type you need to check her out!

5. @ispydiy

Jenni is my jam….yes I just said that! But, in all seriousness I love how her mind works and her DIY’s always have me sitting and thinking, “why didn’t I think of that? it’s awesome!”. She has this way of taking the simplest ideas and making them into something incredible. She is also a friend of colour so we were destined to be friends.

6. @jacobsantiagojacobsantiagoIf you have ever been to New York you know just how incredible it is. I still miss being there and I only visited a week! It is my other home, where I secretly long to live but know it is an impossibility so I watch Woody Allen movies to get my fix. By far one of the best photographers to capture New York is Jacob Santiago, this is one photographer that knows his home and knows how to make it look beautiful. I love seeing New York through his eyes and I know you will too.

7. @luffikova

Another less known feed is that of the talented Lucie, this is another feed that I absolutely stalk and heart everything she posts. I love seeing the world through her lens….she makes art from nature and gives it an almost magical quality. Not many people have the ability to leave me breathless, but her feed does just that, each and every time.

8. @mwestonart

Megan Weston is a famous artist here in Oz and I have to say I love anything she does…..her artwork is beyond stunning. Actually one of my favourite things she has done is her studio floor, it is so beautiful that they have made it into textiles. I challenge you to google “megan weston studio floor” and tell me you don’t love it too! One thing on my bucket list is to own an original Megan Weston. Her feed is full of colour and inspiring interiors and needs to be followed.

9. @lyndagardener

While I am all about over-saturation I also love looking at interiors and spaces that are stripped back and raw, where it less about the “things” and more about the space. Sometimes less is more and Lynda’s feed reminds of that. Also who doesn’t love a bunny?

10. @tracey_ayton

Tracey is an interior, food and lifestyle photographer who inspires me in how she captures a space. Her photography has graced many a magazine and she is doing what I aspire to do one day. What I love most about her feed is the way she captures flowers and still life…..everything looks flooded with light… it is always summer where she lives.

So there you have it, hopefully I have shown you some feeds that are new to you and have left you just a little bit inspired. Photography is such a huge part of who I am and what I do that anything that puts me in front of inspiring artists like this everyday is a positive thing for me. If you have not already I would love for you to follow me on Instagram I don’t just share blog stuff in my feed I also share other things that I don’t blog about so if you enjoy reading my blog I know you will find something you like there too. You can follow me here: @coloursaturated

If there are any Instagram feeds you think I should follow feel free to leave a link in the comments. I always love discovering new people on Instagram.

I will be back later in the week with a little DIY that hopefully will inspire you this weekend.

I couldn’t agree more with your views on social media. I’m fine with posting my projects and what I’m working on, but find it very difficult to share ME. It is refreshing to know that I’m not the only one who feels this way!!ReplyCancel
