Have you ever had one of those pieces of furniture that you just struggled with? The one piece you knew would tie the space together and make it feel whole. Well I have……my living room coffee table…..I have been looking for one for the past 4 years. It was becoming a real issue for me. Over Christmas I thought I had found the perfect one, but……then I showed my hubby and he vetoed it (generally he leaves the furniture choices up to me but I like having his opinion and when he says no I listen….though begrudgingly). I have to admit I was kinda miffed that he had such a strong opinion but I got over it, it just wasn’t meant to be.
Then came an unexpected shopping trip…..I can’t remember now what we were actually looking for but it wasn’t a coffee table! We were shopping at Home Secret (a local retail discount outlet that sells home wares) when I stumbled upon a set of coffee tables (the shop only had one set which was tagged at a ridiculously low price!), they were so cheap that I had to double check with the sales assistant and once it was confirmed we practically ran to the checkout!
Now that our living room finally has all the furniture I thought it was time to give you an update…..
Our living room is still a work in progress…..I finally have plans for the large wall above the lounge and I will be moving the portrait above the sideboard to the hallway as I have plans for that space too. I also would like to get some different pillows for the lounge as I am changing the colours a bit (I would like to tie in the grey colour on the coffee table). We also want to change the lighting and move our ceiling fan. But, I finally feel like this space is looking like a complete room. What do you think of the coffee table? I love that it can serve several purposes – coffee table, ottoman for your feet and extra seating when we have guests. Living in a small home means sometimes things have to have several functions. Oh and if you are wondering what happened to the other coffee table in the set…..we are selling it….and hoping to get our money back 😉
